Householders

"I have just had cavity wall insulation done by your firm. I must say the men who did this were very profssional, courteous and friendly. To say I am satisfied may be an understatement."

J Mullen

"I am writing to give you some feedback as to how delighted I am with the standard of workmanship. Putting insulation on top of the existing into a 30° roof space was going to be a challenge and they did a fantastically neat and professional job. The house is so much cosier now - well done Solas!"
PD, Bearsden

“In paying for our cavity wall insulation we’d just like to say what a positive experience we have had with your company. Even if we wanted to find fault with it, we couldn’t!”
The man who did the survey was thorough, knowledgeable and helpful. The insulation itself caused no disruption and we were delighted with the finish, which was so good that we could almost believe the house hadn’t been touched if we hadn’t seen the job being done!
Thanks for an excellent job at an excellent price.
MB, Glasgow

“As I rent my flat to tenants, I was really pleased that the work went ahead so quickly. The fact that the work was done for nothing (due to my tenant qualifying for allowances) was an added bonus!”

Council

Inverclyde Council have worked in partnership with SOLAS Insulation Ltd to deliver insulation measures to our housing stock over the 10 year period of our HECA Strategy (1997/98-2007/08). During this period an effective and efficient working relationship was nurtured which also saw the development of a dedicated, local energy advice service, INVEST, which allowed energy advice to be delivered at a local level to many vulnerable households in Inverclyde with the joint aim of reducing energy consumption and maximising household income. The success of INVEST in delivering energy advice led to further development of the, cross-service supported, business model into the areas of home safety and security, which provided additional training and employment opportunities through 'New Deal' as well as delivering additional services to vulnerable households in Inverclyde.

Over the period of our HECA Strategy, SOLAS Insulation not only successfully delivered
services and provided employment opportunities but also levered in approximately £4m of external funding to the local area through government programmes, utility companies funding and successful European URBAN II funding bids.

Inverclyde Council has recently completed the transfer of its housing stock to local Registered Social Landlords, however, we have maintained our partnership with Solas Insulation to enable further development of our strategic approach to energy efficiency and the wider climate change agenda. The introduction of Carbon Emissions Reduction Targets heralds a new era in the governments approach to tackling climate change and Inverclyde Council look forward to working with Solas Insulation and utility companies in developing and delivering approaches to tackling climate change.

William Rice, Inverclyde Council
