 Why do landlords need EPCs?

From January 4th. 2009 RSLs, Councils and Private Landlords need an EPC in place for each property which is let. It will be against the law to let without an EPC. At present, properties let by RSLs and Councils must meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard(SHQS). An EPC contains a SAP rating, which will confirm whether the property meets the SHQS energy standard. You won’t need to spend money on further energy surveys once the EPC is in place.

How can Solas help?

Our staff are all fully trained and experienced. Solas has over 21 years experience of providing home insulation and energy rating surveys in the Council, RSL and private sectors in Scotland.

There will be no need for more than one provider – You can rely on Solas to provide EPCs for your stock across Central Scotland.

We will provide a responsive service to ensure your voids are turned around quickly – We can deliver an EPC to you in as little as 48 hours. We will work with you to create a service tailored to your particular requirements. – 100% of stock, voids only, a combination – whatever you decide. Solas understand your needs, are big enough to deliver and small enough to care.

We take responsibility for the entire EPC service. We don't use third parties to survey or process the data. This lets us guarantee the accuracy which you need.

Why waste time and money by visiting the same house several times? Improve your stock’s SAP rating during the EPC process by insulating lofts and/or wall cavities at the same time – Solas can do it all, and access funds for you to meet up to 100% of your insulation costs.

Take advantage of our “Before and After” EPC Service – If we improve the energy efficiency of the property for you after we issue an EPC, we’ll produce an updated EPC at a discounted price.

Deliver best value by working in partnership with a not-for-profit organisation, based in Scotland and working to improve home energy efficiency and eradicate fuel poverty in Scotland.

 What else can Solas offer?

Along with EPC and insulation services, Solas can provide landlords with a range of other services for tenants, ranging from home security and safety advice and upgrades to in-depth support and advocacy for households regarding fuel bills. We pride ourselves in getting to know our clients and their tenants and giving a community oriented service.
