In the West Dunbartonshire and Inverclyde areas, under LESS, any householder or partner aged 70 years or over qualifies for 100% grants for Cavity Wall Insulation and Loft Insulation (where there is less than 60mm already present in the loft).

For other households, grants of 100% for Cavity Wall Insulation, Loft Insulation and Draughtproofing are available where the householder or partner are in receipt of at least one of the following:-

•  Attendance Allowance

•  Council Tax Benefit

•  Disability Living Allowance

•  Disabled Persons Tax Credit

•  Housing Benefit

•  Income Based Jobseeker's Allowance

•  Income Support

•  Child Tax Credit (with an income of less than £16,642)

•  Pensioners in receipt of the minimum guarantee element of Pension Credit

•  Working Families Tax Credit (with an income of less than £16,642)

•  Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (must include Constant Attendance Allowance)

•  War Disablement Pension (must include the Mobility Supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance)

 

100% grants are also available to any household with a child under 16 receiving Disability Living Allowance.

 

Partial grants of up to 70% are available to all households regardless of income. If you live in the LESS areas, these grants have been maximised and are reflected in the prices currently displayed.

 

LESS - making a difference

Since the start of the schemes, over 650 households in West Dunbartonshire and over 350 in Inverclyde have taken advantage of them. 

The Scottish Government is launching a new Energy Assistance Package on 6 April 2009.

 

British Gas to cut prices by 10% (from the BBC)

British Gas has said that more than seven million households will benefit after it cut its standard tariff gas prices by 10%.
